CPI (M) is in nexus with liquor lobby: Sudheeran

However, their efforts would not succeed.  No force would be able to nullify the policy. The CPI (M) had failed to reverse the ban on arrack brought by A. K. Antony despite coming to power.

Entry of women into temple: Chandy opposes Jairam Ramesh

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has come out against the stand of Congress leader and former Union Minister Jairam Ramesh in favour of entry of women into all temples.

Describing Mr. Ramesh’s view as personal, the Chief Minister said that Kerala government disagreed with his opinion that women should be allowed entry into Sabarimala. The government and Travancore Devaswom Board took a stand against entry of women considering the traditions and rites prevalent for hundreds of years.

Endosulfan stir- talks fail

Endosulfan victimDiscussions between Joint Action Council of endosulfan victims and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy on Friday to settle the agitation by the victims and their mothers before the Secretariat, failed.

Talks will again be held on February 3. General Convenor of the Council against endosulfan Ambalathara Kunhikrishnan said that the Council would intensify it stir.

Government to hold talks with endosulfan victims

Thiruvananthapuram: The Government will hold discussions with endosulfan victims and their mothers on hunger strike before the Secretariat on Friday.

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy agreed to hold talks after Opposition Leader V. S. Achuthanandan talked to him after visiting those on hunger strike.  He spent some time with the victims.

Congress alleges political conspiracy behind allegations against Chief Minister

The Congress was extending full support to the Chief Minister in the matter.
