Kochi: Chief Minister Pinarai Vijayan held discussions with the Chief Justice of Kerala High Court on Tuesday about the conflict between the media and lawyers in the State.
The Chief Minister told the media after the meeting with the Chief Justice at the latter’s residence here that the issue would be resolved. The Chief Justice was positive about resolving the issue and the Registrar of High Court would soon issue a circular in this regard.
Mr. Vijayan said that there would not be any hindrance to journalists covering proceedings of the courts.
The Chief Minister called on the Chief Justice as promised to senior journalists who had made a representation to him a week ago.
The lawyers had been preventing reporters from covering High Court proceedings for nearly three months now in violation of the principles of open court and freedom of the Press.
