CPI (M) is in nexus with liquor lobby: Sudheeran

KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran leading Janaraksha YatraThiruvananthapuram: KPCC president V. M. Sudheeran said in Kochi on Sunday that the CPI (M) was in nexus with the liquor lobby to change the liquor policy.

However, their efforts would not succeed.  No force would be able to nullify the policy. The CPI (M) had failed to reverse the ban on arrack brought by A. K. Antony despite coming to power.

Mr. Sudheeran said that the CP I (M) should abandon attempts to change the policy.

He urged that the stir by endosulfan victims should be settled at the earliest in the spirit of understanding reached earlier and clarifying issues. The government should take the lead in this respect.

The KPCC president said that there was nothing improper about K. Babu’s return as Excise Minister.

Opposition Leader V. S. Achuthanandan said that the UDF had cheated the people through withdrawal of resignation of Mr. Babu.
