
Thiruvananthapuram: The nine-day-old agitation by joint action council of endosulfan victims was settled on Wednesday following talks between representatives of the victims and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy.
The list of victims eligible for compensation will be expanded and 610 persons will be included in the list immediately. A three-member committee will undertake classification of victims into three categories on the basis of their requirements.
Doctors serving in medical facilities for endosulfan victims will be given special incentives.
Loans totaling Rs. 10 crore will be written off. The Chief Minster also conceded other demands of the victims which were also part of the promises given to them two years ago.
Opposition Leader V. S. Achuthanandan, council convernor Ambalathala Kunhikrishnan and Kasaragod Collector and other officials attended the talks.
