Thiruvananthapuram: The 16th session of 13th Kerala Assembly, which is also the last session of the Assembly, will begin on Friday with the Governor’s address. The Budget for 2016-17 will be presented on February 12.
Speaker N. Sakthan said that the House would be meeting mainly for presentation of the Budget and passing of the vote on account. The House would sit for 14 days between February 5 and 25.
The Address of the Governor P. Sathasivam will begin at 9 am on Friday. The House will make a reference to former speaker A. C. Jose on Monday. The next three days will be devoted to discussion of the motion of thanks to the Governor for his address.
Discussion on the final supplementary demands for grants and voting will take place on February 15. The general discussion on the Budget for the coming year will be held after that—from February 17 to 18.
The discussion on the demands for grants on account and voting will take place on February 22. The Kerala Appropriation Bill relating to the supplementary demands for grants will come up for discussion on February 24. The House will consider the Kerala Appropriation (Vote on Account) Bill the next day.
February 19 is set apart for private members bills. Decisions on other business to be taken up during the session will be taken by the Business Advisory Committee meeting on February 8.
