Notification of Assembly elections on Friday

Thiruvananthapuram: The notification for Assembly elections in Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry will be issued on Friday.

Filing of nominations begins with the issue of notification in all the three States.

The scrutiny of nominations will take place on April 30. The last date for withdrawal of nominations is May 2. The polling will take place on May 16 and the counting on May 19.

In Kerala, BJP leaders Kummanam Rajasekharan (Vattiyoorkavu) and V. Muraleedharan (Kazhakoottam) will be submitting their nominations on Friday. CPI (M) leader Kadakampally Surendran is also to file his nomination in the same day in Kazhakoottam. Kerala Congress leader K. M. Mani will also be among those filing nominations on Friday.
