Kochi: Several hundreds of people gathered here on Sunday to protest against growing fascist tendencies in the State.
They danced and sang under the banner of ‘Manushya Sangamom’ and declared that they would not be cowed down by fascism.

A ‘Freedom Walk’ through the streets of Kochi was taken out on Sunday as prelude to the Sangamom.
Discussions were held today on ways to deal with fascism by representatives of political, social, environmental and cultural groups.
Scientist P. M. Bhargava, who inaugurated the event today. Anti-POSCO agitation leader Abhay Sahu, CPI (M) leader M. A. Baby, Satchidanandan, Anand, C. R. Neelakantan and C. K. Janu were among those who joined the gathering. Actor Rima Kallingal presented a dance programme.
Meanwhile, another protest against fascism was held in Kozhikode. They also objected to the organisers of Kochi Sangamom excluding Muslim organisations.
