Police looking at all aspects of Kalabhavan Mani's death

Police are not confirming yet whether it is murder or suicide, though pesticide chlorpyrifos has been detected on analysis of viscera.

The police are enquiring how pesticide bottles reached  the outhouse where Mani was staying.  Whether Mani drank any spurious kind of liquor is also being examined.  Police have taken several people into custody.

Police are also looking into the finances of Mani to see whether any financial issues could be behind the death. Bank accounts of Mani’s helpers are also being scrutinised.

The police is also examining whether Mani received the right course of treatment.

Crime Branch Superintendent of Police P. N. Unnirajan, who is supervising the investigation, visited Mani’s outhouse on Sunday. He told the media that the police were looking into all aspects of the death.

 BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan demanded on Sunday that investigation into Mani’s death should be entrusted to the CBI.
