Issues at Hyderabad University will be settled soon: Chandrasekhara Rao

Thiruvananthapuram: Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao has assured Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that the issues at University of Hyderabad would be settled soon.

The Telangana Chief Minister telephoned Mr. Chandy in response to a letter from Mr. Chandy urging him to end excesses by police and authorities against students of Hyderabad University immediately.

During the telephone conversation, Mr. Chandy told his Telangana counterpart about the concerns of Keralites studying at the University.

Mr. Chandy said that actions that curbed academic freedoms and organizational rights of students could not be countenanced.

He had also written to Prime Minister Oommen Chandy expressing concerns over the developments in the campus.
