High Court dimisses Saritha's petition seeking CBI inquiry into solar scam

Thiruvananthapuram: The High Court on Tuesday dismissed a petition filed by accused in the solar scam Saritha S. Nair seeking CBI inquiry into the case.

Dismissing the petition, Justice B. Kemal Pasha said that there was reason to suspect that the petition is politically motivated. The petitioner could not be allowed the use of the court room for playing politics during the run up to the assembly elections.

He added that the Ms. Nair was accused in 33 cases involving alleged swindling of crores of rupees. The accused could not be allowed to step into the shoes of de facto complaint by praying for investigation of the cases by another agency. Besides, she lacked credibility.
