Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister designate Pinarai Vijayan said here on Tuesday that his government would be one that belongs to all—a non-partisan government that would work for progress of the State.
Addressing a press conference here, the Chief Minister said that the government would work above political, religious and caste differences.
Mr. Vijayan said that the government would work for the goodness, abundance, brotherhood and progress of the State.
Later, addressing a meeting at Punnapra, Mr. Vijayan said that strong action would be taken to put down criminals. Incidents like the rape of law student at Perumbavoor would not be allowed to be repeated.
Mr. Vijayan said that the developmental projects would not be allowed to be stalled. Those who use muscle power for gains will come to regret it. Strong measures would be taken against corruption.
He also promised steps to make Kerala the top most State in the country. Issues like landlessness, unemployment would be addressed and steps take to provide shelter to all. Pollution would be checked and measures taken to clean up water resources.
Mr. Vijayan and minister-designates paid homage to martyrs at Punnappra and Vayalar. He also called on veteran leader K. R. Gouri to invite her to the swearing-in ceremony on Tuesday.
