Thiruvananthapuram: The Assembly resumes its first session on Friday (June 24) with the Address by Governor P. Sathasivam, and the new government presents its revised Budget for 2016-17 on July 8.
Finance Minister T. M. Thomas Isaac will be dropping all the new proposals in the Budget presented by the previous government in his revised Budget while retaining schemes included in the detailed Budget estimates. According to Dr. Isaac, the budgeted schemes could be reviewed by the ministers concerned later.
He would not consider proposals for creation of new taluks, colleges or projects that would require creation of large number of posts in view of stressed financial position of the State.
