Thiruvananthapuram (updated on Nov. 16): The Opposition plans to stage protests in the Assembly against Minister for Excise and Ports during the session beginning on November 30.
CPI (M) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan said on Monday that the Opposition would mount protests if no action is taken against Mr. Babu in view of the allegation that he had taken bribes to lower bar licence fees.
The Assembly will be meeting only for 11 days during the session. There will not be any sitting from December 9 to 13.
The session will end on December 17, as per the calendar of sittings issued by the Legislature Secretariat.
The first seven days (excluding Saturday and Sunday) will be spent mainly on legislative and other government business. However Private Members’ Bills too will be taken up on Friday (December 4.)
December 14 will be devoted entirely for discussion and voting on the supplementary demands for grants in the Budget for the 2015-16 and excess demands for grants pertaining to 2011-12 and 2012-13. Appropriation Bills in respect of the supplementary demands for grants and excess demands for grants will be taken up on December 16. The remaining days will also be used for government business as per current schedule.
